# Building delivery capability from the ground up

## Project management foundations, Jira Cloud and Confluence, with working practices and reporting suited to the business.

A digital business preparing to operate independently needed to build project management capability from the beginning. The work supported its plans in data analytics and loyalty.

The engagement started with basic project management practices, training and forums for coordinating delivery. Once teams had a working understanding of the foundations, Agile practices were introduced where they were useful, including software development. The resulting approach combined methods to suit different parts of the business.

An enterprise Jira Cloud rollout and Confluence supported the new ways of working. A tailored reporting system connected Jira, SAP and the company's data lake, bringing profit and loss, workload and resource forecasts into a shared view.

The completed work gave management a basis for planning, comparing commitments with actual delivery and understanding how project activity related to financial performance.
